ATWS Podcast #63: Toy Soldiers

Toy Soldiers joined me at the Candy Factory for a chat about the band’s history and a few of their brand new recordings. The buzz around Toy Soldiers has been steadily increasing since the current lineup locked in back in 2011 just in time to record their second release, an EP called Get Through the Time.
The band won Best Indie Band of the year back in February 2012 at the Tri State Indie Music Awards at the World Cafe Live in Philadelphia, they toured the south this spring with a stop at SXSW to showcase at Rachel Ray’s house party, and are now recording a full length album with Philly producer Bill Moriarty. Moriarty’s production credits include Dr. Dog, Hoots and Hellmouth, and the Swimmers among many more. Toy Soldiers recently released a three-song digital EP called Tell the Teller as a prelude to the new album and coming up this week on June 16, you can catch them for a show at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia.
