Judy Smith and Rich Low from the Long’s Park Amphitheater Foundation join me for a conversation about the amphitheater and their legendary summer concert series. Judy is the Executive Director and Rich is serving his second term as the foundation’s Music Director.
Each summer, the foundation brings thirteen free concerts to Lancaster on Sunday evenings for thousands and thousands of fans. 2012 marks the 50th anniversary for both the amphitheater and the music series, and to celebrate the foundation is sponsoring a fundraising campaign called Put a Candle on the Cake.

Like Wild is a Lancaster area folk-rock band based around the singing and songwriting of Patrick Hatt. In June, 2012, the band released its latest album Carry On. The album was recorded by Kory Gable at Pin-Up Recording, Lancaster, PA.
The 3rd and final Music in the Orchard concert at Hans Herr House will be held on Saturday, July 28 featuring country songwriter Dave Lefever and York bluegrass trio Waitin on a Train. Music in the Orchard concerts are a delightful way to spend a summer evening in the shade of Lancaster’s oldest historic home, the Hans Herr House!

Put a Candle on the Cake – as of July 23 – 16 candles, $19,785 so far. Need those candles for Long’s Park Amphitheater Foundation 50th – all for the Music. Sponsor a candle “in honor of” someone . We need your help.
Yes, everyone at the Amphitheater last night enjoyed Dawes; and there is more through Sunday, August 26.
Excellent! So, it’s gone up a bit since we recorded the interview. Well keep spreading the word. Thanks, Judy.
