Maggie McKaig is a singer-songwriter from Nevada City, CA. Maggie was recently in Lancaster to facilitate a songwriting workshop at Franklin and Marshall College.
Maggie is a prolific and award winning singer-songwriter, guitarist, and accordionist who has explored a wide range of musical genres over the decades, most recently with an instrumental outfit called Beaucoup Chapeaux. While her home is Nevada City, she has an interesting story with deep ancestral roots in Pennsylvania and Cumberland, MD.
Lancaster’s First Friday
Lancaster’s First Friday is this week on November 2. Each first Friday in downtown Lancaster thousands of friends and neighbors descend on Lancaster City to dine at the local eateries, visit the shops and galleries, enjoy street performers of all kinds, and simply bask in the greatness that is the Lancaster arts scene.
Check out Theatre for Transformation’s final Sweeter the Berry showcase of 2012 at the YWCA at 110 N. Lime Street in Lancaster at 6pm. This is a free family friendly event that celebrates the sweetness of life in multicultural Lancaster. This week’s Berry features poetry, dance, and drumming.
Swing by Binn’s Park throughout the evening where our friend Jenny Hill will be hooping in the park. Jenny is a professional poet, performer, and hoop instructor. She’ll have plenty of hoops for everyone to join in the fun. Find out more about Jenny at her website.
Lancaster’s 24 Hour Plays
