Podcast #103: Corty Byron and it's Mickel Time
Podcast: Play in new window | Download
Corty Byron is a Lancaster-based songwriter and musician who recently spent a year and a half living in Venice Beach, California on somewhat of a personal creative retreat. Without a solid plan, Corty and his girlfriend spent a couple months traveling all around the U.S. on their journey from Lancaster to Venice. Corty picked up gigs as they traveled and managed to play shows all along the way.
While in California, far removed from the musical foundation he had built here in Central PA as both a solo musician and as the frontman for Green Onions, Corty was free to explore some very new musical territory and he managed to capture quite a bit of it on self-recorded demos, some of which we’ll sample on today’s program. He also found a new perspective on his hometown of Lancaster, something that can be difficult to find unless you spend time elsewhere.
Connect with Corty on his website, Facebook, and Twitter.
