Happy Holidays
The second half of 2013 didn’t turn out as expected. During the last published episode of the show, I mentioned that we’d be taking a two month “summer break”. Well, as it often does, life got in the way of the podcast and we ended up taking nearly a six month hiatus instead. But never fear, Around the Wood Stove will return in January 2014 with regularly scheduled episodes and feature interviews. In the meantime, all of us at the Wood Stove House would like to wish you and yours a happy and safe holiday season! And a healthy and happy New Year as well. See you in 2014.
Jam at the Dam
Sam Campbell from Gigspots.com is a Lancaster creative to keep your eye on in 2014 and beyond. He is a genuine live music fanatic and the Gigspots website is dedicated to connecting bands, fans, and venues. Sam works tirelessly to make great live music events a reality and is currently working with Rich Ruoff to bring us the Lancaster Roots and Blues Festival of Music coming to Lancaster on February 21 and 22, 2014. The festival will feature two days of live music on 9 stages across Lancaster City. You’ll be hearing a lot more about the festival on upcoming episodes of Around the Wood Stove.
On July 6, 2013 Sam Campbell was “making it happen” at Jam at the Dam, a one day music festival in Weatherly PA a couple hours north of Lancaster. Sam sponsored the Gigspots stage where we spent the day partying in the sun, enjoying a gorgeous sunset, and listening to dozens of awesome bands from around the region.
I had the pleasure of hanging out and interviewing several of those bands but haven’t had the chance to share the audio we captured until now. I hope this trip down memory lane is a good one and reminds you all of fun in the summer sun during this holiday season when the days are at their shortest and the temperature rarely rises above 30 degrees!
