Concert at the Fulton to Benefit the Longhouse
On Saturday evening, August 30, Joanne Shenandoah will perform a special concert at the Fulton Theatre to benefit the Lancaster Longhouse located at the 1719 Hans Herr House & Museum. A longhouse is a large Native American multi-family homes made of logs, saplings and tree bark that once dotted Pennsylvania’s landscape.
Joanne Shenandoah is a Grammy Award winning singer from the Onondaga Nation of the Iroquois. She performs a wide variety of music from country and folk to new age and traditional Native American tunes. Over the course of her career, she has won more than 40 awards, including a Grammy and a record 13 Native American Music Awards. Proceeds from the concert will support the Lancaster Longhouse in its mission to educate the public about Native American life and culture in the past and in the present. The concert starts at 7pm. More information about the concert and how to purchase tickets can be found here.
