Lancasphere 2: Birds of the Cloud Forest, Des Sera, and The Reverie 11.14.14

Our second Lancasphere concert comes to The Candy Factory’s Warehouse D on Friday, November 14, at 8pm. This concert features sets from three area acts who are stretching boundaries.

Birds of the Cloud Forest with Tim Baum

Tim Baum is a one-man ambient band who performs using synthesizers, electric guitars, and wind instruments, such as oboe, bamboo clarinet, and whistles. He created a system for guitars to “play themselves” using plastic paddles, turn table motors, and foot switches. For the past three years Tim has provided an atmospheric soundtrack to the experimental theater project, Lancaster’s 24 Hour Plays and he recently performed in the Lancasphere One: Evolution of Sound experimental improv concert.

Des Sera

Des Sera is the experimental music performance efforts put forth by a core group of individuals from Harrisburg, PA. The music features heavily effected vocals and vocal loops, electric guitar, and synthesizers set to the rhythmic foundation of electric bass and human beatboxing. The sound mixes ethereal world influences and downbeat electronic grooves.

The Reverie

The Reverie was founded in 2013 by three friends who shared a love for music that is intentional and spiritually substantive. Their drive is to create music that inspires the soul and shares emotion and purpose with everyone who hears in a way that is fresh, tangible, and profound. The sound is an instrumental a mix of ambient, jazz, and fusion.
