ATWS Podcast #72: 3rd Annual Rootenanny

Mark DeRose is a Lancaster area singer-songwriter and musician who organizes a yearly concert in his native city of York, PA focused on green initiatives and doing something good for the community. This year, the 3rd Annual Rootenanny, benefits an organization called B.O.P., or Bring on Play. B.O.P. is a division of the city of York that renovates one York City playground each year and hosts a variety of events that encourage kids of all ages to get outside, move around, and have some fun. B.O.P. volunteer Adam Nugent joined Mark for a conversation about the Rootenanny and all of the things that B.O.P. brings to York.
This year’s Rootenanny will be held at the Terrace at Heritage Hills, 2700 Mt. Rose Ave., York, PA. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids and you can purchase tickets online. Here are some links from the show:

Long’s Park Amphitheater Foundation
Each summer, the Long’s Park Amphitheater Foundation brings thirteen free concerts to Lancaster on Sunday evenings for thousands and thousands of fans. 2012 marks the 50th anniversary for both the amphitheater and the music series, and to celebrate the foundation is sponsoring a fundraising campaign called Put a Candle on the Cake.
