Lancasphere SEVEN | Evolution of Sound 4.18.15
Lancasphere returns to The Candy Factory’s Warehouse D on Saturday, April 18 at 7:00pm with our fourth installment of Evolution of Sound. The show features an improvised round robin with ten Lancaster musicians.
*** We’ve added several special video elements to the evening’s program! ***
- Photographer and filmmaker Lowell Brown presents excerpts from After Lumiere
- Filmmaker Stephen Ulrich returns with live improvised visual projects
- Visual and performance artist Nancy Baum will be creating live visual art responses to the improvised music
Here’s how it the Evolution of Sound works:
The first musician will perform five minutes of completely improvised music. The second musician will join the first musician and the duo will perform for another five minutes. Then, the first musician will leave the stage and the third musician will join the second musician.
This rotation will continue with two musicians performing at a time until all ten musicians have performed. At that time each musician will rejoin the performance every two minutes until the entire group is playing at once. The music will be performed continuously and will evolve as each musician brings his/her influence.
